Gin Notes: Zuidam Dry Gin |

Filed under: Gin, Raves & Reviews, Trends, Happy Hour, America, Europe, Spirits Zuidam Dry Gin is 89 proof/44.5 abv and from Holland. To my taste it is actually part way between a Dry Gin and Genever. It has a bit more body and sweetness than a Dry Gin but nowhere near as thick and sweet as a Genever. The botanicals used are: Juniper, Iris Root, Coriander, Angelica, Oranges, Lemons, Vanilla, Licorice, and Cardamom. I think it is absolutely excellent! Zuidam is both smooth and complex with the juniper melded nicely with the citrus, herbs, and other botanicals. If you are a citrus lover and you want a premium gin with citrus top notes then this is the one to try since the orange/lemon really comes through intensely. Tasted straight it has a nice creamy hint of a vanilla sort of finish with a bit of lip tingle. On the rocks it tastes very much like a martini with a lemon twist. It is my favorite of the citrus forward gins. Zuidam also makes Zuidam Genever which I am anxiously trying to locate so I can taste and review it for you. Oh the trials and tribulations I suffer for you Slash-foodies! Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
