It's been said that Taos area has the highest per capita concentration of restaurants of any town in America except New York City. There are, of course, many cities in America that make this claim. Taos has a higher number than any of the states or Washington, D. C., however. And in Taos you don't have to walk very far to get to the next restaurant, eatery or bar.
In 2003, we began gathering data on all of the restaurants, eateries, and bars in town and posted a static version of taosdining.com with a long list of Taos-area restaurants. Just like any couple living and traveling together a lot, my wife and I had enough time and interest in this topic to get a good handle on yet another Taos-phenomenon - an awesome, low-key, understated little escape town in the high desert set up with Restaurants, Eateries and Bars that are different, and unique in nature.
Since then taosdining.com has grown tremendously and features interactive online reviews, a very accurate interactive map to all restaurants, first class recipe of the day, interesting & informative digital video movies, as well as a new recipes database feature.
