The Love Apple the Taos' newest fave rave. The Love Apple is open in Fernando Miera’s old chapel on Paseo Norte just north of the Rio Pueblo. Jennifer Hart, owner, host serves organic regional food at reasonable prices prepared from scratch with intention and local fresh ingredients.
The Love Apple's chef is Andrea Meyer. Jennifer Hart has kept the main room white, with bench seating along the walls fitted between the inner buttresses, and a custom rectangular mirror, courtesy Chris White on the east wall to expand and brighten the space. Jennifer named it Love Apple after the French term for tomato, pomme d’amour.
The food is organic/local/natural to the extent possible and the menu is very creative and seasonally appropriate. It looked like they print new menus regularly, but there were specials on top of that.
The Love Apple's menu features such delights as Local Lamb Burger with Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges; Avocado and Roasted Beet Salad; Quesadillas with Sautéd Local Beet Greens and Candied New Mexico Pecans; Calabacitas and Green Chile Soup; and a side of the flour tortillas with crème fraiche, pico de gallo, and avocado-cilantro salsa.
